SIGNIFICANT CHANGES AND AMENDMENTS IN THE 66th EDITION (2025)

IATA has released the significant changes and amendments for the 66th edition of IATA dangerous goods regulations.

Notable changes include:

3-Classification; there are a number of changes to classifications including 3.6.2.2.2.1 Monkey pox virus as being category A when in culture form only.

4 -Identification – 4.2 list of dangerous goods has been amended to include new entries for sodium batteries and batteries powered vehicles.

5 Packing – Packing Instructions have been amended for a number of entries including PI378, PI 492 PI 950 PI 951 with the broadening of sodium batteries to reference metallic sodium batteries and sodium alloy batteries and PI 952 has been amended to encompass the new UN marks UN 3556, UN 3557 UN 3558 relating to Battery powered vehicles.
