Air Sea Containers will showcase its Dangerous Goods Packaging range at the CHEMUK2021 Exhibition (15th & 16th September 2021, NEC, Birmingham).

The stand will feature 4G fibreboard boxes which have been approved for use with a variety of specific inner packaging including glass, plastic and tinplate, sizes range from a 2kg sample pack which is ideal for those working with the likes of chemical samples and raw materials. The largest box which has a maximum gross package weight of 31kg can accommodate 20L of dangerous goods using 4x 5L plastic jerricans.
Shippers who wish to choose their own suitable non-specific inners will be able to see the 4GV fibreboard range which allows up to a maximum gross package weight of 65kg. Available in a range of sizes, these highly durable, tested to a drop height of 1.8m and water-resistant boxes are ideal for all industry sectors involved in shipping dangerous goods via air, rail, road or sea.
For those looking for wooden boxes, the 4DV plywood box range combines flexibility, strength and durability allowing for the use of a variety of inner containers and has an impressive maximum gross weight of 280kg. They come flat pack and are easily assembled without the need for nails by using the quick and simple yet robust integrated locking tab system. The 4DV range is perfect for shippers who require extra durability and larger weight capacity from their UN packaging, ideal for Lithium batteries and larger/heavier shipments of dangerous goods. As 4DV boxes come flat pack they are cost effective for delivery costs and have the benefit of 90% space saving for those with limited storage, further more they are three times lighter than a traditional wooden box of the same size helping keep shipping costs down. 4DV products will be on display for those wishing to see how the plywood box is assembled using the no nails integrated locking tab system.
Catering for the biomedical industry, Air Sea Containers also manufactures Infectious Substances Packaging for Category A substances (UN2900/UN2814) and Category B Biological Substances (UN3373). Category B range includes a postal pack which is fully compliant with PI650, it comes fully assembled and pre-printed so no need for delivery labels and it’s designed to fit through standard letter boxes so is suitable to be shipped using Royal Mail postal services, providing low delivery costs. UN approved packaging for shipping Category A UN2814 Infectious Substance, affecting humans and UN2900 Infectious Substance affecting animals boasts long life storage capabilities, has capacities of 50ml to 12L, drop tested to 9 metres, are water resistant and are compliant with PI620. For those requiring temperature controlled packaging there is a range of Thermal Control packaging that can be used in-conjunction with a range of Infectious Substance packaging.
Sometimes when shipping smaller quantities of dangerous goods, Limited Quantity and Excepted Quantity packaging is the preferred option.
